Default 2001 LS430 L Side Mirror (Mirror itself) Replacement

Has anyone here ever had to replace the left side mirror on their LS430, generally I think the 01-06 LS430 has the same mirror, but the mirror itself is cracked and I was wondering how easy to find the part, and then replace the unit?

It was first a simple crack but now has grown worse and looks ugly...plus also an issue trying to see what's behind you to your left...

I had to have mine replaced as part of the whole mirror unit after some old lady hit my mirror as she drove by with her early-model Accord with a fixed mirror. I know have them fold in when parked.

This is the mirror for my 2004, but you can use the site and email them for the exact part number for your vehicle: https://www.lexuspartsnow.com/parts/...=mirror,,87961

Isn't that glass cost prohibitive? I would love a new one on the pass side since the gel is messed up for the autodim...I thought the list price was $400, even at $200, too much....

You can buy an exact mirror cutout from some aftermarket providers and just stick double sided tape on it if you want a cheap solution for around $20. They are on Amazon and Ebay.

The actual Lexus mirrors are stupid expensive because they have some sort of electrical feature.

That "electrical feature" is two-fold: auto-dimming and defrost.

Thanks for that, I was never really sure what they did.

Somehow I've been able to get by without these features for so long, but I guess that's why it's a flagship car.

And those features are nice and also convenient, but the mirror has gone to crap under the hands of my dad, so thats why Im putting a stop to it and replacing it .....but after I raise nearly $1000 to replace the front bumper...
