I have a 2005 LS 430 with the Levinson package (step down from ultra) and it amazes me , this expensive automobile does not have corning lamps? When you activate the turn signals? Ive had Avalons , Infinitis they all had them .Surprises me Lexus could not spend a few extra bucks for a wiring harness and a bulb and they would fit perfectly into the fog light assembly on the corners?
The Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS) helps illuminate a turn or curve as the driver steers into it. I thought that was standard on LS - does your car not have it (swiveling the headlights)?
They're on the Japanese vehicles (and possibly everywhere else RHD). They got removed from the US/Canadian vehicles, at the very least. Not sure why. Reflectors are still in the assembly, but no hole for the bulbs.
I believe some people have simply drilled/cut their own to fit a bulb, but not sure how wiring would go to make it function as a cornering lamp. I've been itching to wire in a pair of bulbs that turn on alongside the foglights for more side coverage, but it'd probably be out of DOT regulation or whatever, and cause some glare as there is no shielding.
