98-00 LS Owners - cornering lights?
My 99 LS400 is new to me as of November 05 and so far I love it. After digging around I found out that the lens next to the fog lights is just a dummy because it didn't meet DOT specs or something as a side marker.
I also know that many people have modded their cars to make this a running light. I honestly think that only looks "ok."
What would really be slick is to convert it to cornering lamp. If you don't know what that is - it's a white light that is only on (not flashing) when: your headlights are on AND your turn signal is flashing for the corresponding side. Many Lincolns and Cadillacs have had these for years...I even had them on my '89 T-bird. I've seen some Infinitis with them as well.
I'm not sure how well it would function in the sense that I don't know how the internal reflectors (if any) are angled. So it might just shoot light in a useless spot...?
Anyway - I did a quick search and found that someone retrofitted a cornering light on his truck...there's no reason it wouldn't work on this car. Seems like a pretty simple wiring diagram - check it out: Cornering light wiring diagram
I might give this a stab once the weather warms up. Has anyone tried or accomplished this?
