Default Rear bumper sensor replacement

Hi:
Is there a way to replace the left side rear bumper sensor without removing the bumper cover?
It got pushed back into the bumper and out of site somehow (but then my wife drives it most of the time). Is there a way to get to it without removing the cover?

would recommend taking off the bumper. the sensor goes in from the outside and there is a clip that holds it from the inside. If it got pushed in might need to replace the ring around the outside of the sensor

Default Rear bumper sensor

So basically you must take off the bumper to replace the sensor properly?

Definitely have to remove the bumper so you can push the sensor back into place. Hopefully, the clip that holds the sensor didn't break.

Rear bumper cover is very simple to take out.

But you definitely need a flashlight light to see the 2 fender screws. Other than that it's pretty simple.

Thanks to all for the advice! So, I need to take off the rear bumper cover. Does anybody have an exploded drawing of the rear bumper cover showing fastener locations?
