Default Question about '05 "Sport Mode"

Hi guys! I purchased my '05 LS430 UL in December and am still learning about it. I've searched through the forums and saw people mentioning the '04 model and sport mode, saying they did not notice a difference when switching modes. I was wondering if Lexus did anything different when '05 came around? When I switch to sport mode in my car, I don't really notice much difference in the feel of the ride. It floats a little less than normal--not much, though--but other than that, I don't feel anything different.

Is it just me, or are they all like that?

It's a slight change , it's not a night or day difference so in reality you're not going to feel much difference

That's all it does which is really quite a lot. Sport mode doesn't turn it into a BMW.

Ahhh, okay. Thanks for the replies guys. Most of my cars have been Hondas. I've driven my grandma's '97 ES quite a bit, but that ride is a bit different from the LS. I'm new to driving a newer/different model. And Lexus vehicles obviously drive WAY different from Hondas, lol

There is a significant improvement in transient response and reduction of body movement on corner entry with it on. I also notice a bit more harshness. But tooling along going straight a highway and playing with the button, you won't notice much, nor should you.

Yes. Straight line driving you won't be able to tell the differences but if you take a corner hard you can feel that sport mode stiffens the car a lot more than before.

Ahhh, okay. The times I've tried it have just been on the highway. That makes sense, lol. Thank you for the replies.

I guess "SPORT" mode stiffens the suspension when you have the UL with air suspension, but for those of us that don't have UL, it doesn't do much around a corner, it's just as rolly.

If you don't have a UL you don't have a "SPORT" switch!

I've used the Snow/Power button (on Power side) and that's kind of cool. I took off much faster than when it was off. I have not used the Snow side yet, though. This past winter in Utah was a joke, we had hardly any snow, so it wasn't a problem.
