Post Question about 04 LS430 UL Stance

Is your LS (with air suspen.) higher on the Driver side vs. Passenger Side when in Park with the "Sport Mode". My dealer was telling me this was normal... I think this looks very retarded... anybody has explantion to this???

It levels out when you get into the car

Sport Mode need to add gas to the shocks to give you that stiff, roady feel that comes with the sport drive......... That's why it only does it in the sport mode!!!!

I readjusted mine, becasue it was causing the car to sway to the passenger side.

It also looks better now as well.

I left my 04 ultra in high mode last week for a few days and came out and the passengers side was 1.25 inches lower than the driver's. After driving and parking it was normal which normal seems that the passenger side is about a .25 to .50 inch lower. I've noticed that when parked, that the rear is way lower than the front by a good 1.5 inches. The car looks like it is driving up hill and thae wheel gap in the front is silly wide and the back looks good.. Is this set-up "normal"

Even after having all four struts replaced, new brakes and rotors and tires balanced on a hunter machine at the dealer, my ride still sucks. I have an 2004 Ultra with 41k miles and the steering wheel shakes over the slightest bumpy road, I fell every bump and when I hit a pothole the whole car feels like someone hit it with a sledgehammer. Lately I have noticed that in regular and high suspension mode that the rear of the car is 1.5 inches lower than the front so it looks like the car is driving uphill. Today I tried driving the car in high mode and that seems to make the ride better but yet the rear is still 1.5 inches lower than the front. Do those of you with an Ultra have the same height in the front and back, I measured from the groung to the top of the wheel well? Could I have bad air bags, or whatever they are called with the air suspension. My dealer does not seem to be that aggressive in diagnosing the problem so I need to show him what seems to be wrong. Please help.

Tomsls, I too have a 04 ultra. I stopped by the service department which is only 2 blocks from my work to ask them about the suspension as I had the same kind of questions you did. The car suppose to self level when you are driving so the when parked, it may "look" uneven but will "flatten" out when driving. Also, I believe your method of measuring the wheel well is not the way to do it. I believe a better method is to measure the height of the chrome trim on the body of the car as that should give you a more level look approach. The rear should always have a small gap than the front, unless you have adjusted the brackets for the air suspension so the gaps are the same.

Dave.

THe proper way to measure a car with air suspension is to measure from the bottom of the rim, to the fender line..

That's the word I was looking for - Fender Line and not trim.
