Default Rear taillights tinted

Hey everyone just needed some of you guys opinions on tinting rear tail lights. Friend of mine just got his Beamer 650 lights tinted and I like how it looks against the black paint… so I did a little research and was thinking about getting mine done.

I didn't want it to dark maybe like 40% film on. I was looking at some amg model Benzs I noticed the amg version of the s and sl come wit a Lil darkened tail light, so a shade similar to that, But I still want my reverse light strip to stay white…
So If anyone have any pics or any advice good or bad about this topic plz feel free to write bak

What color is your car? Is it modded at all?
Never been a fan of tinted lights unless it comes oem.

I'm not a fan of the tinted tails either but if you do need an extra set of the '01 - '03 tail lights to experiment with, I have a set in my garage that I will sell to you cheap.

B43088,

Like you, I own a 04 black LS430; however, unlike you...I have no desire to tint the rear tail lights. I think it takes away from the luxury styling of the LS430. If you have a cool shop that you frequent, I'd suggest going to that shop and telling them to do one side and let you see how it will look. I've seen a few benz's with tinted tales that looked ok but they were mostly coupes.

What it ultimately comes down to >> it's your car so do as you feel…this is only my opinion. I've done mods to my car that other people don't like and I think its dope (my rims for example). I'd be curious to see a pic if you go ahead with the mod.

As a suggestion, I wouldn’t go any darker than this: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/3ge...il-lights.html

Good luck!

not a big fan of tinting tail lights but one word of advice is to get it done via tinted vinyl and not the actual window tint. this way if you are ever dissatisfied or want to go back to factory, you can always just peel it off without scratching it. do not paint it otherwise you will be spending $300+ on another set.

I just tinted the middle section with vinyl tint, cutting it with an Xacto knife. It's held on flawlessly for months so far. I disliked like the whole orange/white look of the OEM tails. Picture attached.

Looking good, pretty much exactly the same as the WALD tails:

See thats nice I like that… not to much but makes a world of difference to me… I always say its the little things that count… so wat would u think about getting the light tinted lighter than ur tint but keeping the white strip cause I have an 04 with the white strip across the whole taillight ?

That looks good JonHsiung. It looks even better with the updated LED tails. B43088, you have the 04 with the LED tails right? I'd say go with that instead of your original plan, "But I still want my reverse light strip to stay white…" On another note, my homie 'slmblk' has the updated tails for his 01 LS430 and they look dope!
