In Asheville, checking in Doubletree and bellman says "nice car" and gets a grin on his face! I then get a grin and agree that it is a nice car! Love my Lexus LS 430!

Yeah it does still get attention. I live in Metro Detroit and I see mostly BMW's & MB's. In the areas that I travel in, I dont see to many 04-06 LS's so I do notice people checking out my car quite a bit.....wait till I get my wheels!!

 

I am definitely surprised by how many ppl check the car out. I got it b/c I really wanted a flagship sedan and I thought with my age and all I should get something that flies under the radar. Ppl definitely notice it a lot more than I would expect. I guess it really is just that handsome of a design!

 

Where I live ls430s don't get any attention. Everyone already has a 460 or something better

 

Selah, first off I tried to meet u at revision fri night and parked in front of ur car for 45 mins, but I never saw u come back.

Second I know what u mean. I was driving around in reston yesterday and saw 2 turboed panameras a brand new maserati quadraporte a brand new a8L and a new benz or 5 in a quick 1 mile drive from my moms to the grocery store. But none of these cars were modded. but the maserati dude gave me the return nod.

Where I live at its all older model flagships so my car blends in perfectly and doesn't even get a second glance.

 

I was surprised when, after getting the 60k regular interval service at the dealership, my Lexus service rep told me that the mechanic told him that he liked my car. But there really are not that many LS's that come through their garage, I've noticed, compared with the 'lesser' models

 

this is because of pure statistics. forget the numbers but i read on this forum not long ago the sales figures from all the Lex models and the LS was ridiculously low compared to the IS, RX, and ES; lexus's bread and butter.

 

Even in Los Angeles, my silver 2003 LS430 still gets me some looks, especially right after a wash.

I always second glance the ls430 when i see when on the road. It's not a matter of there being better cars out there, its a case of the ls430 jsut having a classy elegant look, especially when they are clean

I stopped by Best Buy for a thing or two and the 26 yo fella fit my computer system in the back seat. He said "very nice car sir" as another gal in her 30's was leaving the store, overheard him and said "thats just what I was thinking". Full of salt, 152k and all, we have taken good care of each other.

 

Wife pulls in to get gas a few weeks back and shuts the car off (we don't pump gas here in Jersey). The kid walks up and says "Nice car ! But it's really dangerous to drive around like that ......"

"Like what?", she asks. He answers, "With your mirrors folded in like that." He grabs the drivers side mirror and asks "Want me to fold them out?"

"NO !!" She screams ............

"They'll open when I start the car." The kid couldn't believe it .........

i've heard of times when someone will fold it out manually and break it in the process grrrrrrrrr...

Flagship cars are what it is. Usually fairly rare compared to other line ups. People do recognize it, even on a subconscious level. I don't drive one to get notice, I just love the comfort, power, and options that make my life easier, safer and comfortable
