Got a quick question. I have a 05 430 and last week a rock hit the windshield and it cracked. Had the windshield replaced. I don't think it was like this before but before I take it to the dealer (CPO) I wanted to ask. When you have your windshield wipers on high does it make a smacking sound like it is hitting the cowling at the bottom of the windshield? I used to have an ls400 and I remember the windshield wiper, driver side, being completely vertical. Where on the 430 it is not completely vertical. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Mine did the same thing after windshield replacement as well. In my case, drivers side wiper arm needed to be adjusted higher at rest. Most likely, the person replacing the windshield tried to 'tuck' the wiper below the hood line.
My buddy repairs and replaces windshields... they will remove the wiper arms to remove the cowl to get to the windshield. Lexus is all about precision. I'm sure they simply misaligned the arms when they put them back on. I'd ask for them re-inspect their work and realign the wiper arms, it's a reasonable request and should be corrected easily.
I too had my windshield replaced last year and after the replacement my driver's blade would hit the lower cowel when on high speed. It was necessary to raise it slightly to avoid the noise. It too is not as low as I would like but only I know about it. It's an OCD thing and I've learned to live with it as it is only very slightly highter than before. I would prefer to take something for this OCD than drive around to get it perfect! lol
Thanks everyone. I figured it would be something small to take care of the problem. I thought I was going crazy not being able to remember if they made noise. I will have to take it in and have them aligned.
