Default Need Stereo Advice

Dear Friends,

So I am in a dilema. I already purchased the Vaistech SLI to give me the iPOD and AUX in my 2004 LS430. I have removed my CD changer so I can access the SLI. I enjoy streaming music from my iPhone and I use a Bluetooth dongle attached to the AUX jack however this has became a pain because either I forget to charge the dongle or leave it at home.

I didn't do enough research until I stumbled upon the BeatSonic kit. However I do not want to install a Double DIN as I am scared I will get broken into. I can always sell the SLI on Ebay or this forum.

My other option to buy the Beatsonic adaptor only and install a Single DIN stereo with bluetooth or even go crazy with a single DIN 7inch DVD player. However the opening is only 6 1/8 x 1 3/4 so no standard single DIN will fit.

Has anyone tried to expand that area. I see I can shave an inch on each side but it would take some craftsmanship. Or I can buy the Beatsonic and install a complete double DIN and risk being broken into (I live in NYC.)

Any suggestions, ideas? Has only been able to install a single DIN in the area where the CD changer was?

thanks in advance
