That is good if your car is running ok now, but as the previous poster mentioned, sell the car. Blowing a rod is a rediculous diagnosis if you ask me. We don't redline the hell out of our cars and the LS430 is basically detuned for luxury purposes. The only way a rod would go is if it is defective.
Another Update: Dealer called today and said before they started to break down the engine, the mechanic started the car and it didn't make ANY noise.
My son's car did this too. A few days before I picked the car up, his mom was riding in it while my son drove her on some errands. She said on that trip, there was no noise. When I started the car a few days later, you couldn't help but hear the noise at all RPMs.
@bjlover, the early diagnosis was (by listening to my car) that they believed it may have blew a rod. When they started the car two days later before they started dissecting it, it was running withoutlany noise whatsoever. So they drove it for a few miles and it was running fine, at least this is what they are telling me. They wanted the weekend to do more testing so I should know more tomorrow.
Final Update: I got my car back today and it was determined that I had an "excessive level of broken carbon build up." They did a fuel induction service and checked out everything. Everything seems to be fine and the car drove great.
Once I picked up my car I already knew that would be the last time they would ever touch my car. I just have to give up a little convenience and drive 20 minutes further to Annapolis, MD. A friend of mines told me when I first got my car to go to the dealer in Annapolis,MD versus the one in Alexandria, VA. Unfortunately, up until this point I have been treated well and got good service, but the miscommunication and misdiagnosis is a bit much to look past.
