Default Inspired to do what?

Okay, after seeing the LS600H dash decked out in leather, I've been inspired to do something about my LS430's dash. I see there are "suede" dash covers that supposedly cover the full upper dash. Our dash however comes down at the temperature switches and sort of wraps around the upper part of the NAV screen. Does anyone have one of these and how does it look/fit/install etc.?

$45, cheap enough to give it a try, but if it's funky, I'll leave it the way it is...

don't recommend suede dash cover, leather looks more natural IMO.

Do it You can be the guinea pig and we'll either laugh mentioning it looks like a pimp mobile or envy with how cool it looks

PIMP the PIMP's MOBILE !!!!

I would have preferred leather (or even faux leather) that would overlay the dash, but I can't seem to find this. I've only found "suede" and volour (or something like that, which is basically CARPET). They don't have the exact picture of how it would look on an LS, they only have a sample for like a Ford F250 or something. Could be they don't have any LS pictures because no one is that pimp to the pimp the dash....

Also, if I do get it, I'm wondering if I should get it in the grey to match the suede headliner, or in black so it doesn't stand out too much. Or I could go red, for the total PIMP.

Factory leather on dash is usually not a good idea. Dash gets very hot when parked in sun and in few years leather can get pretty bad. Aftermarket won't look good. It would seem like you are hiding some dash defect.
No go from me but I am willing to look at the results at your expense.

I've seen Mercedes SL AMG's with suede like material above the instrument gauges. As you strum your fingers across it, it leave lines behind much like our suede headliner. Almost feel like a leather chamois. There is absolutely no glare issue from sun reflecting off the dash. I'd be worry about getting it dirty though.

You guys are not making it any easier. I do have hesitance to do it, because if it looks like crap... but then again, it's only $45 and put on by velcro, not crazy glue, so easy to take back and "do over."

I am also the daring type to try something... so really tough on this one.

I will post if I do it... that's for sure. I just would like to see how "plush" the suede is and how it matches with the factory liner. I don't want a faux bear rug look...

Get it and post pictures. If you don't like it, there will probably be someone else willing to buy it from you.

I'd prefer black.

If it's a cover, then please NO

However, if you want to rewrap it, check out Bluelex's GS suede:

$45 Suede Cover w/ velcro ====> NO!

I don't think the fit is going to be tight to make it look right, nor the quality can be that good at this price. Also in the area's were you have the velcro, I think bumps will show in those area's as well.

I've decided to go with better judgement and NOT "upgrade" the dash. I wanted to see pictures of the actual product only because I had doubts on the fitment on the dash as it comes down towards the NAV and into the temperature control buttons. I was afraid the dash would cut straight across, so that this down area is still the plastic.

Also, to fit around that button area would have been tough to look right also. I wasn't too afraid of the velcro, was more afraid of the edges, but I'm sure there would have been curled/bent edges.

Anyway, thanks for advise guys and I'll keep looking. I really wanted a leather, either overlay, or replace dash anyway.
