Default LS600hL Leather Dash Care

Just wanted to get some feedback from the other LS600 owners lurking on the forum regarding proper care/upkeep of that spectacular LS600 leather dashboard.

My LS600 is a 2008, and the dash at this point looks pretty much perfect. My standard cleaning procedure for past cars is to simply wipe down the dash with a damp microfiber towel to get rid of any dust that has collected, but I'm not sure if that's the best method for a leather dash.

I've used Leather Master's Conditioner on my LS600 seats (based on lots of reviews I read on this forum and elsewhere), and was very pleased by the lack of greasyness/shine, lack of smell, and the way the leather softened up after treatment. I'm tempted to use the Leather Masters conditioner on the leather dash to make sure it doesn't dry out or crack over time, but I'm not sure it's really necessary, and I don't want to do any harm to the dash.

Has anyone used any leather conditioning products on their LS600 dash? If so, did it work out well?

Thanks! Rick

yes i use Meguiars on my dash and all leather trim pieces no problems have been noted so far (over a year of use) but something to help is to purchase a sunshade while leaving the vehicle parked outside or another option is get the front windshield tinted with ceramic tint which helps cut back on the sun UV rays, thats my next addition

I would never use water, even a damp cloth, on leather. To clean the dust I simply use the Swiffer Duster meant for dusting in the home. Works great because it picks up the dust in hard to reach places, and you're not using water or any other household cleaner on the leather.

For deeper cleaning and conditioning I use Zaino Cleaner and Zaino Leather in a Bottle. Whatever you get just make sure it contains no silicone.

I agree with Rod to use a sunshade.
