A very subjective question, I think you should spend some time test driving them both. Take in all the pros & cons of cost of owning, preferences and will best suit your wants/needs. Then bring home the winner!
Now having said all of that.....I like the LS but of course you knew that already.

i didn't know a 750li was in the same price range as an ls430, i thought the 7 series's would be a little higher at least from what i can recall. i know a lot of people compare a8l's to the ls430. aesthetically the new 7 series's do look really nice with some chrome 22's of them, but then again so do the ls's (20's).
i've never driven the 750 but i would assume that it would be a little sportier and more fun to drive than the ls, but i would think the ls is more elegant...

What are you looking for in a car?
What eliminated the BMW for me was the of lack of ride quality. "IF" I ever have another German car as a daily driver it will likely be an A8. I base this on a close friend's ownership experience.

Besides an AMG, the 7 handles extremely well for a luxobarge thanks to the active suspension
I love the ride, but it was stiff and tiring on long drives and choppy road for me.
If you live on curvy and twisty roads, don't get the LS.
Extend your warranty if you get the 7 series. Thankfully, my brother in law listened to me.

I have both a 430 and a 750 ('02 & '07 repectively) and it depends on what you are looking for: the 430 has the smoothest, quietest ride you can ever want but he 750 is the best DRIVING big car you could ask for. If you want a smooth ride, get the 430; if you really want to DRIVE the car, get the 750.

750.....good handling car, somewhat aggressive looking, nice features as far as gizzmos are concerned.....BAD STUFF...very very unreliable...too many issues with electronics....Navi is a the biggest POS....plain dash...guages are boring as well...even though the car is more expensive when they were new, used 750 prices are pretty much in line with the 430.
430.....boat, smooth, reliable, nice gizzmos as well, breeze to use Navi, never have to visit the dealership for anything...plus service is better. BAD STUFF...some people consider this car boring, very plain styling.
Drive them both and you make your decision on which one you want, do you feel like driving a 3 or a 5 most of the time then get a 750 (loaner cars when the 750 needs work). Or do you feel like enjoying your ride all the time??

Honestly, why do people ask other people what they think about cars? Cars are always subjective and depending on which forum you ask on, you'll get way biased answers. You have to pick the vehicle that you're passionate about. We could all tell you until we're blue in the face "GET THE LS IT'S GREAT AND RELIABLE" but if you really want the 750 and then the LS ends up being "boring" then what do you have? A reliable car that you're hohum about...
For me, I've always WANTED the LS and so I made a passionate decision and I love the vehicle. It's about the only thing that gets me up in the mornings to go to work, to know that I'll be driving my LS and listening to my favorite CDs on the ML system in total quietness. For me, that is luxury... not the name or "drivers" feel of a BMW.

Already has...
If I remember the OP correctly, I think he's in Brooklyn and already has an LS430. He might be feeling the lack of passion of the LS and just wants to get reassured he made the right choice...
Like what I said already... PASSION. Take life by the horn and get a car you desire. If you can afford a Ferrari and the maintenance, why would you buy a Mustang? Love the 750, then get it. Don't let POSSIBLE reliability issues stop you from getting what you want.
For me, I was so close to getting the GS350AWD but once I saw the used market for the LS430 was so good, it was a no-brainer for me. Went with #1.

Depends how many miles you want to use it for without having serious headache.
200k+ Lexus. Problematic and reliable.
80k+ Bmw. Good luck with warranty!
I own neither. However I've had plenty of experience with an S500, 740Il new body style and an older LS400.
I plan to buy one of these luxo-boats soon. S500/S55 or the Ls430. Its gonna come down to how long I plan to keep the car, and if I won't keep it long, resale value.
If its just image in my area and what not, I'll be in the S class. But the smarter decsion would be the Lexus.
