Thank you for sharing that David, I was just curious as the 99' LS400 is probably one of the most reliable car ever made.

But all the issues you listed are nothing major, just a few seals, like other people mention, you could have one of the few bad ones made, but from your 3 comments, that you are young, love the 300HP and don't like the 130 mph speed limiter, I got a feeling you drive the car pretty hard, that might be why your car had more issues then other.

Don't get me wrong, I am not judging you if you do drive your car hard, it is your car, you drive it however you want to, I used to be a speed freak too a few years ago. I am just saying you got to pay to play. If you use something hard, it is going to break more often, it is not the machine's fault

Guilty as charged, but come on, it can't be that fragile? And what about the leaking steering rack, and the dying a.c. compressor, in 120K miles ????

Steering rack leak if you turn very aggressively all the time, AC compressor spin with the motor, so if your motor is constantly at redline, the AC compressor is spinning like crazy. Most components on a car is directly affected by how the car is driven. That is why there are so many mint condition used Lexus out there since most of them are driven by old people. As opposite to most slightly used Nissan GTR, EVO and STi is already abused to death.

I'm 40, so I don't/didn't drive at the red line, but come on, these parts should not have worn out at 120K. My M3 had more miles, 136k, was driven hard and hung up wet, and was never in the shop, EVER! $1200.00 for 4 tires every 10K miles got old, but what a car! Took a 16 y.o. to total it, God I miss that car!

Thank you, you are very kind. I do love my new(?) 04 430. I hope it lasts a good long while. I confess, I never got better treatment than at Nalley Lexus for any of my other cars. A Lexus loaner for an oil change? Incredible. And the car's not bad either!
