Default Attempt to return to LS 460

I am a new member here, but I was following this forum for over 5 years. In my opinion it is best forum with so many very honest and knowledgeable members. I had before 2008 LS 460, SWB, which I traded in for 2016 Mercedes E-400. I still have 2005 ES 330, which looks like new and it is in otherwise perfect shape. The E-400 is well equipped (with most safety and accident avoidance features) and it is a good powerful car. However, after a year I am missing my LS. Nothing compare to LS seats, quality of ride and inside quietness. I rode several times from Ontario, Canada to So. Florida in my LS, 2000-2200 km/day and never felt tired. So I was thinking about returning to LS. First I looked for a used LS, but did not find a suitable match (2014-2015 SWB, with D.L.C.C.). Then I try to look for a new 2017 models. The dealership I visited had two new 2017 LS 460, SWB. What I found out is that in order to have the car equipped with DLCC one has to settle for the technology package, which adds $8.5k (plus 13% sales tax) to the total. All the items in the technology package, with the exception of the desirable DLCC and possibly pre-collision, are not needed/desirable to me. In addition the trunk size with this package is only 334 L, which is inadequate for longer trips. The base model would have more appropriate , but unfortunately cannot be equipped with the DLCC. So I was obviously somewhat disappointed. I cannot see any logic why the LS base model at $95k (in Canada) cannot be equipped with DLCC or Lexus Safety System +, when one can have Toyota Corolla with a similar system. So obviously I had to stop here and reconsider my plan.

I would greatly appreciate your comments/suggestion.

Since you still have your MB, if there is no pressing need to get another car, I would just patiently keep searching. For what you want it may even be worth traveling well outside your area to get the car you want.

Good luck!

You might want to wait for the LS500 and see what options are available in Canada.

Unfortunately thats just the way they're packaged, have to get the big package to get the radar CC. The LS is sort of a "lame duck" model with the LS500 coming out, so they didn't rework its packages like they did every other Lexus and Toyota model to make DRCC more accessible.

The LS500 will likely have it standard, or near standard, but it will cost a lot more than buying an LS460 now.
