Default Trying to get to "L" mode on Data System

Question for you guys....when I hold the lower left hand button on the unit at ignition it turns red and says extra-down mode but then it stays there unless i press the buttons of the right. I can only get it to 9 for the settings doing that...I can't get it to "L". I haven't even seen "L" anywhere to look for. What am I doing wrong?

when you start the car, and it shows red "warning", just go to the adjustment screen and press "down" to go from 6, 7, 8 , and when it's at 9, hold the button till it shows L.
