Lowering Instructions and Tips
I'm loooking for detailed Lowering instructions for a 2006 430 UL. I thought i saw it earlier but am unable to find detailed instructions with pictures and any tips you guys have for me i'm going to attempt this within the week i presently have my stock 16's on for the winter and am worried about a little rubbing especially with the back i will post pics tommrow so you guys can give me an idea. Switching to summer 18's soon trying to go 1 inch all around or maybe a little more like i said looking for guidance and any tips at all i am not a mechanic at all and am afraid to %$#@ this up. Thanks......

You can adjust the ride-height sensor on each of the four suspension links on the Air Suspension Ultra Package LS430. Though be careful as tampering with it haphazardly can snap these sensors at very low adjustment points and are VERY expensive to fix, replace!! Also, this method has limitation where OEM controller can only go UP in height very little so if you tweak the sensor, you are pretty much stuck at low height, if you set that up as a base NORMAL point and HIGH setting will only raise it slightly. Also, the OEM controller also varies height automatically during driving so you may see erratic height resulting from computer making automated adjustments while moving.
However, the BEST and safest way to do it is to use a DATASYSTEMS Air Suspension Controller ASC680 (available for about $600~900) online at many places) to do this at the Suspension ECU, so that all Lexus warranties are not voided and you can basically return it back to stock by hitting a switch. With this, you don't even have to get dirty...just find the Lexus Suspension Commputer, plug it in, and hit a switch and see your car go up and down at your command!

I understand the buying the controler would be smarter. However i am chosing to follow this path. If i lower the car only 1 1/4 inches in the front and 1 inch in the rear. Will the High mode put me up to the standard height that i am at now with no modifications? Furthermore When i go over 68 mph will the car lower itself even further? The reaso i ask this si because of rubbing with the stock 16's tha ti have on now and the summer 18's that stick out of the fender a little bit i don't want to be driving on the Garden state parkway and accelerate to 75mph and slice up my front 2 tires.
I got my controller installed, and also adjusted the sensors...
you think my height is good ? even if I drive over 60mph, lowing 1 more inch is safe?? Or should I press high when I drive on highway??? Haven't tried driving highway yet.
I still have 1 finger gap between the tires and the fender... is it safe?

However, going wider or over-sized diameter will tend to give lots of issues at the front tire/fender clearance so be cautious of that fact. You are good to go!

The 18's are the 18's by 7.5. however they are custom wheels that require 5mm Hub centric spacers so they do stick out a little you might get an idea of what i'm talking about by looking at this pic.
