For those of you who installed their datasystems air ride controller on their 01-03 UL, I got couple of questions to ask.(I just got mine, ready to install)
1. Exactly what do you have to remove in order to get to the harness to plug n play?(I did search but the detailed instructions on exactly what to remove and how wasn't explained)
2. Can you guys please explain exactly HOW to remove each parts that have to be removed to get to the harness?
I guess this can be stickied as the official "how to install the datasystems air ride controller" for the future that needs this info
The biggest PITMFA for me was the air vent/wood strip. There's a clip on botto and at the top inside the air vent. You'll need a narrow-tipped flathead screwdriver and kinda go at them at a 45 degree angle through the vanes of the vent. If you have the big fold-out instructions that came with the controller, there's an excellent picture of the vent that shows a good side diagram of the clips and how they work. Look fo rthe UCF31 instructions. After you get those, the whole wood piece can be pulled out. then, 3 phillips head screws behind that, and a few bolts around the lower glovebox that requires a 10mm socket or wrench.
The plug and play is actually easier than you think it is. It will all make sense when you can see it. The air suspension controller sits there next to the radar cruise controller and some other box. Piece of cake.
And when you go into initial setup, you need to put in the correct car, which will be displayed in Katakana/Hiragana. Your car will be spelled out "se-ru-shi-o" (sound it out to Celsior) and then it will say "ma-e." There will also be a Celsior "go" which is the '04 on up. Pick the first one. Looks like this:
Those characters sound out Ce-ru-shi-o ma-e The one you don't want is "Go" and it looks like a box missing the left side.
It's all one big piece. Once you undo the 3 screws up top and the bolts from underneath, it all drops down. The big plastic cover in the footwell is removable.
I was going to make a walk-through, but it was actually so easy that I didn't need to. The clips in the vent really are the hardest part. 2/10 on difficulty scale.
