I bought these directly from the manufacturer and installed them in less than 5 minutes. There were no directions with them but the ebay ad had directions, which simply is to pry off the clips and install the new ones. No more having the trunk falld own and it almost opens itself. Great price!
I just bought these for my LS430 and it does help you lift it a little, depending on how bad your existing struts are. Mine were really bad so it made a big difference but I still have to exert some force to open it and it gets easier once it gets about half way. I was hoping it would pop open higher when i pop the trunk but mine doesn't and I still have to do a curl when I lift the trunk open. Hope this info helps.
I looked at my 01 struts. Underneath all the warnings was printed "KYB".
Wouldn't surprise me that KYB manufactured these...
I sent an email to KYB, hoping it will find its way to someone who knows....
Steve checked on doing a GB on these and there really isn't anything he'd be able to cut to get a lower price. He suggested just ordering them directly

I ordered mine Monday from FIGs. they arrived today and I installed them in less than 3 minutes with a small flat head screwdriver!
They work GREAT! They are about 3mm shorter than the OEMs and the shaft and pump are a bit skinnier. Overall, they work GREAT! Very happy with my purchase!
