I have been lurking here waiting for my LS to arrive. I picked it up today and just wanted to say Hi to everyone. I got the Modern Lux package in Briarwood Pearl. I have owned Lexus vehicles in the past but 2 years ago my wife wanted an Acura MDX, to haul the grand kids around. The MDX is a nice SUV but there is no comparison to a Lexus in quality. I put up with things for a while but decided it was time to go back in the Lexus ranks and out of an SUV. It is amazing how superior this 430 is to my old 400. I am really loving being back in a Lexus.
Congratulations on your new LS 430 and welcome to CL!!! I'm new here too.
I wish you the best on your new car...and hope that, like me when I first stepped in to our LS, you're in for a treat!!! We have the Modern Lux as well and SmartAccess, Bluetooth, the NAVI system, backup camera, and heated/cooled seats are some of our favorite features. And we're still learning new features several months later!
It's probably good to look into the manual and NAVI informational CD to familiarize yourself with all the interesting features of your new LS, such as setting AUTO for the wipers, the lights, etc...the manual is also available for dl if you register your car VIN on Lexus.com, I found that helps because then I can keyword search the manual on my computer.
i've almost similar experience but i was very lucky:
5 years ago when we(me and my wife) wanted to buy our first car, i told my wife that we just needed to look at toyota or lexus. we went to used car exhibition and played with a few lexus. finally, my wife complained to me that i was discriminating other japenese cars(u know those names) by not looking at them.
so we climbed on a few of them(one of them was accura) and played around with these and that, starting their engines, a/c, cd..... i was lucky that my wife really used her heart and senses to deal with cars....we bought an ES300 that time...that's what she said "lexus is so much superior, no wonder you said that we didn't need to bother with other cars"
