Default LS 600h L Availability

Lexus Chat told me some units have been released in the US. Don't know what that means. I still haven't heard a hard arrival date for the 600hl. First on list at my dealer - great people. Having second thoughts about the car due to lack of real info. At $125,000, there are many high quality options. Anyone have any real info on this?

Welcome to Club Lexus, rejh!

Congrats on the LS 600h L preorder. Yes, the wait is frustrating, but the word on these forums suggest that around August should be the arrival date. Hopefully it will be not much longer.

As for what Lexus Chat mentioned, there are ~29 LS 600h Ls that have been touring U.S. locations, mostly for displays at special events or for reviewer test drives.

Welcome to ClubLexus!

It is rather frustrating that the LS600hL has no specific arrival date. However, be assured that it is coming, most likely by mid-late August.

The car is being produced as we speak in Japan, and it will trickle down to the U.S. soon. The best thing I would do: Special Order the car now (which takes 4 months) if you want the "perfect" LS600 for you (since you'll most likely pay MSRP anyways during its release).

Good luck and keep us informed if you get one!

Well, let's jsut say that there are at least 1800 people that have placed deposits. That doesn't mean that 1800 LS600hL have been sold...

Welcome. Alot of the info is hearsay for now. It's just a matter of time before the car is finally released. Aside from the rumors, what color combination did you request?

I bought my LS 460 SWB last night. Talked to the GM at the dealership, he said that he will be getting two LS600hl's per month starting in August. He has 42 deposits on the LS600hl's. Seems like a lot of people will be waiting a long time or become impatient and move on to something else. I think Lexus is missing the boat on this. How can you make people wait to spend their money, 125k for a car that they want? Seems to me in this market of exlcusivity you should have only a few more buyers than available inventory. I understand the car is new, but I think it's important for Lexus to sell as many of the 600's as they can, to get a footprint in the Super Luxo market as many people are questioning the value and success of this car.

Well, sometimes you just couldn't help it if you can only produce that many cars & the demand far exceed it, even for non-exotic cars.
You know there was a 2 year waiting list for the SL when it came out in 2003 for example ? And the Ferrari's are in the $200K range and more, & recently, their waiting time is two years after you place the order(they are working to shorten it though)

Last time I was at a Lexus dealer, I was told the first LS600hL will arrive in a few weeks.

According to the general manager at Longo Lexus whom I spoke with yesterday, they are getting one car at the end of this month (a black on black premium2 package). Then two more in August followed by four a month from that point forward. I just hope the first few they get are the Executive package as I am number three on the waiting list to get one of those.

Really do hope the 600hl is worth it as the communication leaves much to be desired.

Agreed that more information should be made available.

For whatever reason, and Lexus sales staff have mentioned this (along with interviews of Lexus USA execs), they keep a tight lid on all production release information. More than practically anybody, they sometimes don't reveal that a brand new launch vehicle is showing up at a dealership until days or hours before they arrive.

Hopefully you have a dealer that is fairly large and getting among the first LS 600h Ls?
