Car is fairly new to new as a 3rd vehicle. I am in the process of refurbishing the vehicle and one of the items were the ML Speakers. Two of them are rattling. 2003' Brochure states it comes with 11 ML speakers however I only count 7; 2 tweets on the dash, 4 speakers in each of the front and rear doors, and 1 Sub on the rear window deck. Am I missing the remaining 4 here somewhere?

I am going to purchase all new ML speakers while they are still available and have them replaced.

 

They count tweeters as separate speakers but don't think that gets them to 11. Just like watts people think moar speakers is better so Lexus takes shall we say liberties.

 

Judging from your words,"Two of them are rattling", I worry that the power supply for amplifiers is dying. Mark Levison's power supply commonly fails when aged due to their selection of QAS liquid capacitors that prematurely fail loosing the capacitance and increasing the ESR. Some leaks the liquid badly and damages traces.

 

On the ML system the dash tweeters actually have 2 speakers on each side, one larger (2.5"? and one smaller 1"), so 4 speakers on the dash.
The front doors just have a 6.5" speaker each.
The rear doors have a 4" mid and a 1" tweeter in each.
Adding in the Sub on the rear deck, we have a total of 11 speakers.

 

Does anyone have the part number for an ML Amplifier for my 03' LS? Cannot seem to find a listing for one on Lexus Parts
