well, the wife blew out the rear speakers and in trying to decide what to do. Iam out of warranty. any suggestions?

Ya the woofer blows easy!!! If its the woofer, then switch to an aftermarket sub. But if its the actual SPEAKERS, then I'd say replace with ML again. Love my ML speakers!

as embarassing as this sounds im not sure whether its the speakers or sub i think its the speakers.

 

The coups come with a sub? Sorry I'm new and still trying to research this stuff. Does the convertible also come with one? I just read that it was a 14 speaker setup

 

I searched and searched for a ML sub replacement. Options are extremely limited. Either order a replacement sub from Sewell for $310 w/CL discount.

Or go the aftermarket route, get a 10" or 12" sub + box + amp + wiring and stick it in the trunk for minimum $1000.

There are zero plug & play options for replacing the sub using the existing speaker location. Bass is not a huge deal for me but I did feel like the sound system was missing something without the sub hooked up (obviously!). I bit the bullet and ordered a replacement sub from Sewell and installed it myself. Comes with a 1 year warranty.
