hello everyone, so im having issues with my ls430 (2001) transmission, seems to not switch gears well when i try to switch from park:reverse: drive : ect, i took it to a mechanic and he’s telling me part of my transmission issue is my suspension. i had some new coilovers installed about a year ago and he’s saying since the vehicle is too low that the computer is messing up the relay to transmission causing it to not switch smoothly. please let me know of any of this makes sense. ill see if i can answer ur questions to the best of my knowledge

Suggest you get a second evaluation.
Take the car to a shop that only
specializes in transmissions, with
older experienced mechanics
who have a lot of practical exposure
to transmissions.
Inquire at a few shops.
It may take some time finding
the right one.

 

the suspension has nothing to do with the transmission. Start by checking the fluid, doing a fluid flush / fill. Then diagnose any errors or codes in the transmission ECU with Techstream.
