Default Transmission pressure selector switch adjustment?

I hear there's a "free" mod we can do to our transmissions by changing the setting on a pressure switch inside the transmission. This can easily be done by dropping the pan. Supposedly this change allows the transmission to shift quicker between gears. Can anyone with knowledge about this please comment?

There is a thread in the GS performance section about this. From what I remember the difference is rather minor but it does help a bit. I believe there was someone who lost their transmission after the change but other things could of been involved. Not sure if the risk is worth the reward.

FWIW, I think you'd have to be crazy to screw around with something like that. Just asking for trouble

From that thread, this "mod" will only be applicable to the 2001-2003 models. Because they come factory equipped with the 5-speed transmission the "A650E".

The 2004-2006 models had the newly introduced 6-speed tranny, the "A761E".

All they were talking about was the "A650E"/, I don't know for sure, but I know the tranny's have different designs. The 6-speed doesn't have a dipstick for one..
