Default transmission ground strap broken

Just sharing that dealer found transmission ground strap had frayed/broken. No symptoms. I was unaware of such a part. Read it might have some redundancy, etc. so maybe that's why no issues. But glad they spotted it. Hope other critical ground wires are ok. Dealers/mechanics rarely seem preventative on stuff, so this is appreciated and seems legit.

As far as I know the ground strap is for the counter measure to meet the regulation CISPR 25. Although the link is about the newer regulation.

Without the ground strap/wire the car runs just fine but the radio interference is increased some. You can find more reading the thread below especially the post #31.

Thanks, I read part of that thread but missed that point about if being interference-related. Some people on that thread swear that fixing improved their trans, etc. Given that I am unaware of any electronic-related problems, I am not expecting any noticeable difference, but as the part is fairly cheap (nothing, not even a cable, that gets done at a dealer is $20...) I an having it replaced. I try to keep the car in good working order within reason for a nearly 20 year old car. This is within reason, even if I can question the benefit.
