Default Rodent corpse removal

So...an independent mechanic said they'd remove this guy when it was time for valve gasket replacement but I think I'll try for AT205 first ...which leaves the removal to me!

Maybe a bit of a silly post, but the mechanic assumed he'd come off in pieces - anything wrong with my plan of putting on gloves, getting a plastic bag, and simply tugging him out?

Concern is that pieces falling under the current position might mess something up....I know it's not likely but figured I'd check

Only one way to find out unless you plan on leaving the invader there to rot.

It has been there for a very very long time as it is skeletal....well the mechanic's advice turned out to be quite sage. After 20 minutes of wiggling it, I got impatient and tugged. I think its skull got stuck somewhere so the dessicated fella is half in a garbage bag with the front still here as follows....

Nasty critters. Your engine bay needs a good detailing.

You're over thinking it, just use a shop vac.

I had an issue like this on my old land cruiser with the skeletal remains of the mouse wedged in one of the brake calipers.

From what I remember I basically taped the end of a screwdriver (to prevent scratches) and then busted the remains up while I held a shop vac nozzle nearby. It should be able to suck most of it out of there.

Ha! Given my first attempt, I will accept that Mr. Rat has become one with the LS430 until I can get my hands on a proper vacuum. I'm not too squeamish about it as I do think I pulled most of the fella out...my concern was it might be located in an area where remains might fall on moving parts and muck them up or something, ha.

Pretty irritating what these little bastards can do to car, isn't it?

My other car-mouse stories are when my old Toyota Solara had the cavity under the intake manifold completed filled with acorns, and my wife's GX460 had something build a nest on the valve cover with insulation that it chewed off the firewall.

Luckily the GX didn't have any other damage, but before we discovered it, the mice would leave the nest, and pee on the exhaust manifold, which would make the outside of the car wreak of ammonia when you would start it up and burn it all off, which is what led me to check under the engine cover.

Were all those vehicles garage kept and regularly driven? Makes me think I should put some traps in the garage....I just got the LS in December so definitely a previous owner issue, but still....

The Solara came that way from the prior owner, but as far as I could tell, it was garage kept by an older couple, but lord knows how often they drove it.

The Wife's GX is also garage kept, but since she works from home it is not driven very often compared to mine, and we put it into a rotation for being taken out more often since the nest incident. We also live in a rural area with few nearby houses, so naturally there is more of a rodent problem out here.
