recently the triangle warning sign came on Tail light failure. I checked and ALL lights were working . Then I noticed the warning light comes on only when I switch on the headlights.
How can I disengage the warning light?
Double check all the lights AFTER you engage the headlights. There are a couple of night-only running lights in the trunk lid that should be on. Bang on the trunk lid as sometimes a loose wire or poor fitting coupling on the lights cause the warning.
As noted above it could be the middle brake light maybe.
Hmmmm….. My experience with that red triangle and error message is it is detecting a burned out bulb or bad wire/coupling. Next step would be to inspect all the bulbs and replace any suspect ones. Use a trim removal tool to peel back the trunk lining fasteners which can be a chore.
Did you replace all the bulbs? Did it happen after you replaced 1 of the bulbs? It could be a bulb drawing too much current before it blows out. Could also be a bad sensor also so if you can find it and see if disable without throwing an error code. Ok reread your post and you are saying it only comes on when headlights are turned on which is after all running lights are on. One of those could be drawing too much current.
