Went out to drive my '04 LS today and it's completely unresponsive. I had to manually unlock the car to get in and as soon as I put the key in, I couldn't turn it to start it up. Took it out, because it's sort of a smart key, and tried to crank it up...it wouldn't let me do anything. Tried to jump start it because I thought maybe the battery had died. Nothing. I last drove it a week ago..we've received a ton of snow here so I can't drive it much. I had no problems then. I don't get it. Absolutely nothing on the car works. It's dead.
Battery is dead. It's a common failure in cold weather. The plates shrink in the cold and the shrinkage cracks the welds between them.
When you did the jump, did you connect the jump leads, then start the other vehicle, then wait for 5 or so minutes for the LS430s computers to fully initialise before trying to start it?
Otherwise, check all your fuses, especially the big cartridge ones under the hood and make sure that the battery terminals are tight.
Most likely, the battery is dead. As said previously, if you try to jump start it let the other car run for a while before you try to start it. The LS is hard on batteries. I have found that AGM batteries have held up better.
That said, you might consider having the alternator checked. Also, while I have only used it a few times (due to interior lights being left on, my fault) a Noco or other lithium charger in the trunk is helpful. Best of luck to you.

Definitely sounds like battery. I don't drive mine in snow or much at all in winter so the battery dies. Even though new, they die. Next battery will be AGM
You all are spot on. The battery was completely dead. Charged it up and it's just fine now. Never experienced a car not letting me turn the ignition switch.
It was cool to watch and hear everything load up computer wise on the car and the nav display after getting the car started again.
I will certainly check out the AGM batteries. I currently have an Interstate in the LS.
