Default Parking the LS for a Month

Gonna get my hip resurfaced versus replaced like a crown on a tooth. Down for a good month relying on wifey for beers to go with my meds! Just kidding. If anyone gets news its bone on bone hold on. If you are active get a Birmingham Resurface I am 56 so pretty young 40 days a year skiing for 40 years took its toll. I remember I skied one years 11 months at MAmmoth when I was on patrol.

If anyone has had a hip replacment resurfacing PM me with their experience. Thanks sitting home off work till this wonderful day of surgery, uh hu. Warm

Hope it works out. Many have commented about their LS not starting after a couple of weeks (dead battery). Mine lasts about 2 weeks. If it's your only car, have the wife do beer runs should solve the drinks problem. However because it's an LS, the beer runs could take time (and miles). She might buy in the next town (or state) rather than driving down to the local store. Good luck!

Suggest you turn off smart key feature if the car is going to sit for a month. And wishing you best of luck with your surgery and recovery.

hopefully your surgery goes well. but I would probably either unplug the battery or put a battery tender on.

Warm, wish you all the best on a successful surgery and rehab, so you're back on the slopes this winter. No doubt you've stocked the necessary supplies while your laid up.

Definitely push smart access button off (under dash), and either a battery tender or disconnect battery. They'll have you back on your feet (legs) quickly, so frequent trips to check out the LS and start it up would be good therapy.

amazon offers battery disconnection products. Once installed, only a couple of turns on the **** and the battery is diconnected. Saves fiddling around with the wrench. Also works well if you go to a concert or shop for several hours

Thanks for all the input on keeping my LS road ready for post op. I am gonna have 2 months off, there is 90 degree hip precautions I cannot honor at work, so i will have some time to get about town and play in between therapy. The YMCA has a huge pool I plan on spending alot of time in.

Sincere thanks for your wishes and support my fellow forum members, ya start to realize where did the years go I am getting new body parts, lol, and support always helps in uncertain times. Think of it a long incision, release the capsule and it must "pop" when they dislocate it out of the socket, yummy.

I use BatteryMinder plus's on all my cars when I go out of town. Also use one on my 1990 XJS over the Winter...

Hope you start feeling better. Go Pack!
