Default Smartkey

Im sure you guys have all seen the smart key in the GS and IS, which is standard. It is also one push start... Is that going to be introduced in the LS as standard before the 2007 LS460, or is it going to remain the same as optional... I was thinking it only makes sense if the GS and IS have it the LS should have it too... I mean it is the flagship

Default LS Smart Key

Although it may be listed as an LS option. my dealer said the only LSs that Lexus brings in have Smart Key. My 2004 LS 430 purchased in Nov 2003 already had it. My wife, who doesn't like new technology, loves it. She doesn't have to search in her purse for the key to open the car.

The first batch of 04's didn’t have smart key.

As the gentlemen said above, all '04's+ have smart key. Actually, the LS had it since '01, but it was not available in the US till '04 .

Yeah 2004 has the smart key, and was the first... But however is it going to become a push button, instead of the other version?

Probably not in 06, but in 07. They wouldn't add all that stuff to the dash mid-model.

Now we're smokin!!! After watching the Bond flicks on Spike TV the last day or so it should be easy to add all the stuff that Q creates to an LS.

Or maybe just fingerprinting... (it will take 5 sec instead of 5 min)
I think it can work, programming it is pretty easy...

Not a push button, but a turn switch which is of course keyless!
