LS400 Stalls only when braking
Today, on my way from work, I noticed that steering became stiff few times. Seemed random, until the car stalled. I drove carefully from that point on and noticed that the harder I brake, the more the RPMs dip, and if I brake hard, or even medium-hard (like when someone cuts you off in traffic), then the car wants to stall. So I had to push it to N every time I hit brakes, to ensure the car doesn't stall.
After a stall it restarts no problem. It also accelerates no problem. Everytihng's fine, only it does not like braking.
Any ideas?
ps. I had one of the two Bosch rotors/housings replaced a couple of months ago - it broke and one side of the engine didn't work at all (limped home for about a mile that time). The mechanic pulled a fast one on me and replaced only that one rotor, when I asked him to do both. Could a failing rotor/housing be the cause?

So I will try that first
Fully self contained thread. Nice! But you're doing all the work - give someone else a chance, maybe.

Glad you got it fixed, and thanks for the case study.
Guess which way I put it back in last night... the wrong way, obviously (you can tell because your idle will be going up and down like crazy). The right way is for the edges of that ring to be raised, not the center. You can see the orientation of that ring on planet soarer site where he has a nice write-up with pictures about cleaning the IACV (one of the last pictures shows just enough of that ring so that you can tell how it should be oriented).
