I am interested in purchasing a 1995 Lexus LS400 for $1100 from a lady on Craigslist. The engine is seized and she has another used engine for it that has 147,000 miles on it that’s part of the $1100 price. It’s one owner and got all its regularly maintancene until the engine went so she says. She has paperwork she says with all maintence done. The pictures she posted online of the car look good from what I see no dents, the interior has no rips paint looks good. My question to you guys is that a good deal? And what should I look for when inspecting the car?

Reason: descriptive title
another car... by time you get that engine in that 95 LS, you will have nearly 2 grand in it... plus transporting it...
RUN, dont walk and find one running...
Sounds bit fishy. She's the registered owner? If not then walk. Maybe a front for her hubby or BF that bought this as a project-salvage car, and isn't registered under their name. They found a motor then discovered there was much more wrong and are dumping it. If you are handy, don't mind the project along with having space, then negotiate something.
Can you share the CL link so that we can see the ad?

depends on how mechanically inclined you are. she could be telling the truth but are you willing to take a risk.
a non-running car is certainly a project, not a car (yet).
I’d be fine with $1100 IF the body and interior were in above average condition and you do your own work. Engine swaps on the LS400 are pretty easy. Where in FL are you?
