Anyone on this forum have run adjustable upper control arms?
I found some Serial999 control arms that can provide -4 to -8 degrees in the front, and -4 to -16 in the rear

there are only one or two members here who have used their products so there isn't too much input.
from what i've seen during their prototyping phase, they are very well built and work well!

adjustables are available in the japanese market but are rare as well. what are you goals? max oni camber setup?

So are those prices per control arm or for both?

 

These are strictly an "off road" racing style arm and is NOT intended to be a replacement for stock parts as they will not replicate stock function/longevity. These aren't comparable to the "normal" UCA replacement options.



I don't know many people running these specifically other than those that have them have good things to say about the quality and the people trying to get them have less than good things to say about SerialNine's lead times and truthfullness about availability.

 

I believe the price is for 1 of them. I'm not sure, I was going to email or call them to make sure.
But considering the price of OEM ones are about $540-590 each, these adjustable ones are definitely worth it even if it is that price for just 1.

 

the price is for both (Ie- 1 set). the OEM arms will last >100,000 miles and provide the signature "Lexus Ride". These will not do either, but provide adjustability for stance/fitment/racing

 

yes, these adjustables are used for non-OEM applications, even at max positive setting they will not give you OEM specs. as PD stated, they are for super low car looking for adjustability for stance and racing setups.

 

I ordered a pair for my UCF10, still waiting on them though.


I would imagine these arms will last a long time. They don't use rubber bushings like OEM and the ball joint is replaceable.

 

Where did you get the notion that heim joints are longer lasting than rubber/polyurethane bushings?

Bushings exist to minimize metal-metal contact as that causes WEAR. Heim/Rose joints are basically lightly lubricated metal-metal joints. They last, when maintained and kept clean, but not nearly as long as a non metal-metal joint.

 

If you actually look at your OEM front upper control arms, they ARE bearings stock. Only cheap replacement uppers use rubber bushings. Both GS and LS use spherical bearings stock. Amazing how you speak so badly about a product you've never seen in person nor used. Thanks for your informed opinion though.

Your right, and if it is just a rubber or urethane bushing the front alignment is going to be a problem, and unwanted movement while driving.
I just wish there was an easy way to keep them lubricated, they'd last a lot longer.

While I agree with you that the OEM bushings are a hybrid bushing/bearing (as I did not make the distinction), I maintain that the bearings on your UCAs are not meant to be nearly as long-lived, nor suffer nearly as harsh climates as the OEM configuration.

I don't recall bad-mouthing anything. If you believe your product is perfectly suitable as an OEM replacement, and is as durable as the OEM component I would be interested in hearing how.
