Default Megan coilover reliability

I'm doing some research from a friend, personally I'm on Megan's on my GS ATM, and them string as low as I am right now they ride like garbage, anyways....

I want to know if Megan's properly adjusted (not sagged) with proper preload will not blow like they are notoriously known for, he's not looking to slam it just I eliminate some wheel gap and replace the worn old struts and springs. He's on a budget and doesn't want to go above $700 it's going on his daily, I don't want to tell him to get coilovers that will end up blowing just from daily driving.

you should be fine if you're just using them for daily, non slammed height. if you're looking to slam with these, good luck and look elsewhere.

Yeah, as long as you are not running them in droop then they should last.
$700 Megans, or any $700 coilover for that matter, are not going to ride exceptionally well compared to stock.

mild lowering springs and KYB struts, those megan's have no stroke on them and ruin the ride, I'd avoid them like the plague, I hated mine.

I was thinking of the KYBs and springs but that is close to or above his budget.

Bilstien shocks and H&R springs would be the absolute best handling and comfort mix, with 1.5-2" drop but thats close to $1200...

I've had my EZ's for about 8-9months and I'm drooping the rear about an inch. They ride pretty good to me, and haven't had any problems out of them. I wouldn't mind them being a little stiffer than they are but the car rides if it were at stock height (very smooth). I got them $650 shipped

I put my LP coilovers on at 120,829 miles and just rolled over 191K the other day. After 70K miles of traveling around town and all over the U.S., I don't have any complaints. They were installed at the highest setting and were driven on that way up until 177K this March, where they were dropped about .5" on all four corners.

Other than some incessant squeaking when the temperature drops below freezing...
