steering wheel vibration
vibration in the steering wheel only during braking is 9/10 times a "warped" disc. Wheel balance issues make themselves aparent at specific speeds or rhythmically as speed increases. Never only during accel/braking.

something many people miss is the fact that tires time age as well as mileage age, you could have a set of tires that are essentially new, like with only 1000 miles on them, and to you they are "new" tires, but because their age is 4, 5, 6 or more years old, the tires could be completely shot.
I know this sounds weird and illogical to some folks out there, but time is tough on tires, even parked inside of a climate controlled garage, believe it or not!
