Default engine & trans mods

I just bought my 91Ls and it currently has 212,000 miles on it. Although it has a ton of milege, it run really good. I also own a mustang that runs low 13's on 17" street tires. Can somebody give me a list of the best mods I can do to my TRANS AND ENGINE to at least wake the car up alittle. I am aware of the supercharger option but I don't have the funds for that right now. I basically want to know what mods make a real difference. I don't want to waste my money with parts that make bogus claims. I'm new to the lexus performance scene so it would really help me if someone can give my some tried and true advice. Thanks in advance!!!

The only performance modifications (so far) that would make a difference would be to add a nitrous system and a torque converter. You can also change out to an aftermarket filter and add a higher-flowing exhaust system.

You don't think a nitrous system will be too much of a strain on the engine being it has 212000 on the clock?

Getting your hands on a TOM`s 5.0 engine would be nice.. I've only seen those in catalogs and it looks like they only make them for the 1995-1997 LS400s.

Forgot to mention the C's 5.0L stroker kit along with the C's supercharger system. But C's products are pretty expensive and overseas.

How much is the TOM's 5.0 engine?

Stroker kit or engine?

I think the engine is about $16,000

wut's up sanjman. i do have pic of my car but i don't have a scanner. i ran 13's about 2 yrs ago at englishtown with a stock shortblock, 3.55 gears, ported stock heads with bigger valves, and a ported stock intake. i didn't hold on to the time slip because i was very dissapointed the way the car ran. my 60ft time was very very bad(because of those 17" tires). also if u think about it a stock mustang should be able to run the 1/4 in the very low 14's so my car really wasn't that fast because of the lack of traction off the line, but my trap speed was about 102mph so i was really pulling up top.

since then i've done a ton of stuff to the car including a different engine setup and suspension work and subframes. i don't really want to get into details about the engine because i street race from time to time. if i'm lucky i'll have a time slip that should really be worth talking about. but i can assure you i'm not making anything up. now i just have one problem, gettin this 91 Ls to do what i did 2yrs ago with the stang!!!
