Battery Light Help!
Hey guys I need some help. recently my battery light came on and i drove with the light on for a day or two. i am pretty sure its the alternator as i have had problems with it in the past. i just need some help on installing a new one as ive never done that before. if anyone can help on the installation or can direct me to a place where i can that would be awsome thanks in advance.

When the alternator in my '91 failed, I think about 5 instrument warning lights came on, and I think that is typical. My battery also died after about 30 minutes of driving after I first noticed the lights.
Quick check is to measure voltage across the battery terminals with the engine idling. Should be 13+ Volts. ~14.5 Volts hopefully.
Once you have the alternator out, many places will bench test it for free (Kragen, Pep Boys, etc.).
If it is your alternator, now would be a good time to inspect the PS pump, reservoir, and idle-up valve for leaks. You'll be right in there while replacing it.
Also, as far as instructions on replacement, there's really not much to it. Get the belt off the alternator pulley, one plug, and a couple of bolts, as I recall. Wrestling it out and in may be tricky, but you'll figure it out.
