Default Water Methanol Injection?

Has anyone done the Water/Meth injection to their Lexus, of any kind? I am looking at doing this for the sheer octane boost. Any thoughts????

I have a 92 LS400 : 1UZFE
Short Ram Intake - Completed

Plans:
Exhaust - Coming soon
7MGE Injectors - 2012
Improved Fuel Rail - 2012

Body:
Car is in great shape inside and out but the body shop will be getting a visit real soon. I look to drop the car 1" and maybe add a body kit. (Pics will be posted soon) I have not made up my mind on the body kit.

Suspension:
Looking at it right now.....but coil overs are in the furture - 2012

the short ram intake lowered your power.

and methanol injection is useless unless you're FI or very highly tuned NA. octane bump by itself won't give you hp.

Also, why the 7M injectors/fuel rail? You're NA? the 1UZ runs pig rich as it is the last hing you need right now is more fuel. I suggest you go read up some more.

Thanks for the 411 Drifter...but I am am doing more research here. I haven't done anything yet. The intake has helped....I plan on doing some Dyno tests here soon, get a baseline of what I have. Thanks for the info. I am a noob at this.

do a proper baseline then.

dyno within an hour under same conditions, OEM intake with a fresh filter followed by your aftermarket "short ram" intake.

short ram intakes on the 1UZ provide little/no benefit as they pull hot air from teh engine bay compared to the stock intake which is cool outside air.

From what I have been reading it is good at increasing octane.....correct me if I am wrong but it allows 89 octane gas to burn like 100+ octane. Which I think is a good thing, burns cleaner and has engine cleaning qualities - decreases knock and ping from low octane gasoline. It also decreases the combustion temperature, and prevents pre-detonation.

Thanks Drifter....I am glad you brought that up while I still have the stock components. The 92 lexus has a front air dam - of sorts that mounts to the top of the radiator. It does this to an extent....I am buying a package of pulls soon. I will PM you these numbers if you're interested.

Don't just PM them to him, post them here so when someone searches in the future they can see any results.

I just couldn't keep my mouth shut.... You would have absolutely 0% gain with meth injection as your still running a factory 1UZ. Run premium gas, and will get just as much horsepower as you'll ever get out of a factory 1UZ. The only added benefit to meth injection is to increase the octane rating, which is only beneficial if your changing your compression ratio.

Agreed, in an LS, without FI, there would be no benefit or increase in performance from running WI.

WI works awesome in my FI'd Miata, however.
