the only unbiased large scale oil filter test ever done was by Consumer Reports many years ago

in that test FRAM kicked all other's *** on trapping the size range of particles that cause engine wear!

therefore these days I using a FRAM Ultra in my LS400

These have done well and I have one unopened box left. Ive dropped the intervals down to 7,500 because pushing the oil isn't worth it. With the filters on hand, that puts the car at about 9 more years of driving and ~300K miles.

link to the results? Note everyone else has been providing data. Also, when was this study? Fram (and every other maker) changes their lineup and construction almost every year-2 years. Right now many of their filters have cardboard in them.

BITOG has actual testing results, hence I stick to Napa (Wix).

I hear Wix makes Napa's filters, so that's where I get my filters from. Standard ones at $4/ea and Gold series at $9/ea.

If you hunt around at different napas, you can get the gold for nearly half that. Don't think i've ever paid more than $5-6 for mine

I wish I could, but the next closest one to me is 13 miles out and charging the same price...

Given the choice of the old 90915 and current Napa/Wix any preference?
