Hello,


On 04 GS3, is 90915YZZD3 (V8) oil filter would be a better choice than the standard D1 (V6) for an annual oil change per 10,000 miles.
Should I stick with a D1 or should switch to D3?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

i think going 10k I'd be more careful to choose your oil wisely, and periodically check levels.

But given the choice, i'd use the larger filter, there's plenty of space for it.
Other 3rd party filter makers spec the same filter for both a LS and GS v8 and v6 Toyota/Lexuses among a ton of other cars. The filter is not really something special or customized just for the GS3.

 

Thanks Ray, as for the oil - I am using amsoil the 100% synthetic

 

I run the d3 filter. Same cost as d1, and .2 more QTS of capacity.

 

D3 fits fine. I use a even bigger filter on mine. Purolator Gold 20195.
