Default Fram xtraguard oil filter

I noticed from checking the other post that Fram oil filters arent very popular here but I was wondering have any of you tried or found any info on the latest fram filter I belive it called x2 or xtraguard. I noticed them in Walmart the other day when I was getting some Mobile 1 oil. They had them for 10 bucks a piece and I was wondering if Fram is now making a quality oil filter?

What do you guys think ?

I don't recall the details, but remember reading a review from someone who cut open an x2 filter. His conclusion was it was a better filter than the other Fram crap, but not worth the price premium.

You can get the best Toyota OEM 'Made in Japan' oil filter (90915-2004) for under $10. No point in getting a Fram filter that costs more.

Here is some good objective info on filter quality.

Mixed feedback on the frams, one is actually ok, the other two versions (including the x2 with the PTFE) have a crappy valve that could allow dirty oil back into the engine. Good filters can be bought as cheaply as the bad ones, if you read these links you can shop around and make the right choice. Remember oil is the blood of your engine, buy the good stuff and keep it clean!
