I have a growling / moaning noise when the car is cold. Seems to go away once the engine is warm. I can hear it in the cabin, but you cant hear it under the hood. Any ideas?
Check your trans fluid. The trans pump will make a very similar sound as the power steering pump would if it were low on fluid. Next time you start your car just reach in and crank it up cold and put your head under your door and if the sound is much louder under there than under the hood (with the hood up of course) it's most likely your trans. If your trans fluid is up and power steering fluid is up, when was the last time your trans strainer was changed?
Also, i just realized it only does it in gear not it P or N. So its the tranny. I just got the car like a month ago but there was a tranny flush about 5k miles ago. Ill check the fluid levels when i get a chance though.
