Default its almost time. starter type replacement

i have a ls400 1990 with the original starter and the mechanic and i have noticed that is falling apart. since we all know how ugly it is to replace it.
what is the best starter to get and any suggestions on the web where to get one?
thanks

You might just want to purchase an OEM starter from Ebay ($25-75) and just have it rebuilt..

I've heard that parts.com has the cheapest prices, their starter is $159.07 plus $30 for the core. All parts are said to be OEM:

the original started lasted 20 years and how many miles???

I would pony up for a new OEM unit.

I was thinking the same thing especially considering that the labor on that job isnt going to be cheap so buying a cheaper starter wouldnt be in your best interest... if parts.com starters are o.e.m. for that price please pm me and let me know I need one also a 90 ls400
