Default Need starter! What do people recommend?!!!

So my LS 460 with 125k miles is not always starting. Every now and again I hit the start switch and the car does not turn over just clicks. I took it to the dealer and they said I needed a new starter, they wanted to charge me $2300 and advised me to purchase an OEM starter which is $839. Needless to say, I will have my mechanic service the vehicle as their labor cost is only $600.They can find a Denso refurbished starter for $295. I just want this to be a one time job. The question is should I use a Denso refurbished starter or new OEM, or low mileage used starter?

I think what I'd do is try to get your mechanic to warranty the work/part, because if the rebuilt starter fails, is he going to charge you another $600 bucks to replace it again? Someone linked a video to a starter replacement on here a while ago, big job, the guy was replacing a rebuilt starter because it had failed again, and along the way he found several mistakes the previous Tech had made (broken clips, mangled heat shield, stripped bolts, etc). I'd feel a lot better if the garage provided a warranty and stood by their work, because sometimes they don't.
