Exclamation Where is the leak ?

Hey guys i just changed my starter this past weekend which let me tell u was hell of a lot of work . When i started the car there was a loud sound as if a exhaust leak . I went to Two muffler shops today and they couldnt figure it out. I ended up taken my cats off but that was not the problem , I thought it was the cats for sure because the car has 162k . It sounds alot nicer but that leak is still there. The only thing that i touched when getting to the starter that was pertaining to the exhaust was the EGR valve. There was two metal Gaskets which i beleive may be my issue because i did not replace them . Has anyone encountered this ?

most likely you need to replace the gaskets. also, you may have broken/damaged the EGR pipe, since it gets rather delicate with age.

I'd just block EGR off, its useless anyway.

rumor has it that the stig can replace (not repair) a 1uz starter without taking the manifold off.

Not really, theres a kit sold for $100, its basically 3 metal plates, 1 goes between the intake manifold and the egr pipe, another goes between exaust manifold and the pipe, and another one goes between intake manifold and egr valve.
