Default Fault Code 43 TRAC light Flashing! AGH!

After trying a few things to try and stop the flashing TRAC light with no success I took it to a mechanic who used to be a Lexus technician and he said it had an error code 43. After attempting to clear the code a few times it never seemed to work. The error code definition is the "ABS system controller" but everything still works fine. The mechanic said that it is possibly confused by the fact I put on bigger rims and wheels (they are significantly bigger then stock) and that is confusing the ABS. I am not 100% convinced as I had the wheels on for several weeks and nothing happened. Has anyone had this problem and/or know what to do?

I'm getting this error as well. The trac light is on solid and this code pops up. ABS code 54 also pops up, but the ABS light is not illuminated.

The trac light will only come on if I drive the car. Idling, it will never come on. Also, sometimes the trac light will never come on while driving.

Any idea why this would pop up out of the blue?

one or more of the wheel speed/abs sensors is dead.

Is there a way to test each one and find out which one it is?

Did you ever find out what the problem was?
I'm slipping and sliding here. My "TRAC" in the center of the gage comes on and off and the wheels traction is working but when the wheels stop sliding "TRAC" comes on and stays on untill I stop and turn off the car. I thought it was the throtle body but it is clean. I haven't check the code yet but I'm afraid that ecm might not store the code since it goes away when I turn off the car. Also, it's been really cold here; too dang cold.

Yep same here. If I make the traction control work, it will work. After this, sometimes the light will not come on the remainder of the trip. Most of the time the light pops on and trac is disabled.

It's pretty annoying because obviously traction control works. It just decides to go into protection mode for some reason.

It's very random and I can't pin it down to one thing or the other.

Usually this kind of problem is due to the sensors in the brakes being faulty. They are open to so much abuse due to their position. However, I have no idea how to test them. If anyone know it would be mighty handy???

Ok. If the temperature is over 40 degrees my TRAC light will never come on and Trac control works perfectly all day lonng. As soon as it dips below 35-40 degrees, the light will come on.

Not sure how this helps me narrow anything down, but who knows.
