I tried the aftermarket replacements that were mentioned on this forum awhile ago from autozone, and they to bend my hood. Got some Ebay replacements recently. No problems. Strong, yes but gets easier to close each time.

 

I bought some on ebay for my 99 and didn't have any problems. They installed easily and work great. Got 'em from these guys.

cool. i sent mine back for a replacement. ill see how the replacements do. if it does bad, ill either get those ^^ or find some OEM ones.

 

i found my replacements at a junk yard on a wrecked one both for 20 just made sure there werent seized and they work fine that might be a good idea if you need new ones.
