What do you mean by "hack the air intake box"?

Just cut the intake off running to the filter?

What Apex'i SAFC do I buy? I've searched around I can't find anything for a 1uzfe motor.

I've only bought them for silvia's and skylines, which were model specific (well thats how I ordered them). So can I buy a SAFC listed for anymake and just get a loom made to join up with my ls400?
